SOAP Journal 04-07-2008 (Psalm 96:10-13)
Scripture:
Psalm 96:10-13a Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns! The world is established, it cannot be moved. He judges the nations fairly.” Let the sky rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout! Let the fields and everything in them celebrate! Then let the trees of the forest shout with joy before the Lord, for he comes!
Observation:
The creation is evidence to God's rulership. Its permanence testifies to His sovereign power and presidence. Joyful emotional expression is present - even called forth - from among that which He created. As he comes to judge the earth, the creation celebrates in advance of His arrival.
Application:
It's no mistake that the enemy of our souls has centered his attack on faith on creation. If that link, that evidence, can be eliminated then there is no basis for rule, no judgment, no right from wrong - except as defined by the illuminati. Reading John Eldredge just TALK about the creation links OUR beings with those of the trees and fields and sea. And that is the true expression the psalmist presents - for what created thing can rejoice like people? If the trees rejoice and celebrate, how much more should those with tongues, minds and hearts?
Prayer:
Let everything that has breath - and even that which does not - praise the Lord. Let thanksgiving overflow in my heart and celebration in the judgment of my God be on my mouth. Father, I need to reverence You more, I need to call my sin more evil and recognize Your move more good and powerful. Let the trees talk to me. Amen.
